If you're wondering who is running this site, and how it is free to use, or why it was set up in the first place, then hopefully this explanation will help.
I'm postie, and some looking at this page might know me from other swinging sites. If not, then hello! I've been swinging for about 12 years, though I guess I never thought of it as swinging until about 5 years ago. I joined a free-to-use site that was amazing. The entire site was open to all who registered for free. I thought it would last forever but, as with all good things, it didn't. The site got too large and the owner sold it to a company, who then turned it into a pay-to-swing site. Over the years, since the original site got sold, I've not found anything that compares to those days before the sale. This site is an attempt to re-create what happened on the original site nearly 5 years ago.
I don't think anything has really changed in those 5 years, people are still looking for a site that doesn't exploit their sex lives for profit, or they simply prefer to keep their cash in their pockets, which is just as good a reason. Those of us who joined that site back then were lucky to find it when we did, but we were no different to anyone who is now looking for a really useful UK swingers website that doesn't charge. That site became the biggest and busiest swinger's site in the UK, simply because it was good at what it did, it provided a place for swingers to meet, chat, post photo ads, contact others, find info' and pass the time of day between meeting people for sex. That it was a free site was a bonus.
I'm still convinced that if a site is usable and provides a great resource for swingers in the UK, as did that original site, then, it will be used. That it is free is a bonus. There are added benefits to it being free, in that you choose to reveal as much, or as little information as you wish. Anonymity as a swinger is very important, as is not paying out a load of cash to a company for the use of a site that may not be all that great. Not paying for a site is also the very best way to protect yourself from online fraud.
Something else I'm being asked a lot is why we don't "verify" people as being genuine. Simply because I think it's far simpler for people to do the checking for themselves. I'd rather not go down the route of policing who joins here. It'd take a huge amount of my time and effort, every single day of the week. It may be wiser to presume that someone is a fake or a time-waster, until you can confirm they're not. On the whole, you'll find the vast majority are not and are just like yourselves.
So, there you go, that's how this site came into being.
Will this site ever be pay for? I very very much doubt it. I personally wouldn't join a site that charges and I'm damned sure I'm not going to run a site that charges. I may have to look at some fund raising via affiliate links or adverts at some point in the future, but the core part of this site will be free to join and use, forever. I think I'd rather shut the site than run a pay-to-use site. If you really really want to pay something to use this site, then please take that money you think the use of this site is worth and donate it to any charity you like.( We'd like to have a specific charity we support, but are finding it very difficult to get acceptance from charities we've contacted, due to the nature of this site. If you know of a charity, and especially if that charity deals with sexual issues, then we'd love to hear from you.)
As I've said elsewhere on this site, I can only build the site and make it as findable as possible to other UK swingers. If no one uses this site, then there's nothing I can do about that. I'm hoping that some others out there realise that because this site, at the moment, is small, it needs all the help it can get. From people posting a simple "hello" on the forum, filling in some details on their profile, advertising for meets or posting their boots off, or letting other swingers they know about this site. Every little bit helps to make this place more usable. Of course, you don't have to do anything, it's entirely your choice, which is the way it should be!
